Obituary for Willa Crystal (Hyman)
Willa Mae (Hyman) Crystal, 100, died Thursday May 4, 2023 in Colonial Park Care Center, Lower Paxton Twp.
She was a retired Nurses Aide for the former Dauphin Manor Nursing home and was a housekeeper for many years for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Willia Mae was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Harrisburg. Willa Mae loved crocheting and made many beautiful blankets during her lifetime.
Willa Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Isaiah and Hattie P. Smith Hyman, her husband Marvin C. Crystal, Sr.; sons, Marvin C. Crystal, Jr. and Thomas C. Crystal; her daughter, Arlene Gordon; brothers, Isaiah Hymon, Jr. and James Hymon, Sr. and her sister, Sarah L. Blanding.
She is survived by her son, William L. Crystal of Harrisburg; brother John Hymon of Miami, FL; sister Julia L. Handy of Harrisburg; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 11:00 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 357 South Harrisburg Street, Oberlin, with Rev. James N. Hymon, Jr., Officiating. Burial at the conclusion of services will be in William Howard Day Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 10:00 am till 11:00 am in the funeral home.
