Obituary for Utica Bovsun (Brittain)
Utica Marie Brittain Bovsun, 86, of Steelton, died March 22, 2023 in her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Regester, PA, the daughter of the late Lawrence Roger Brittain and Elda M. Stout Brittain.
Utica was a 1954 graduate of Huntingdon Mills High School. She was a retired Unit Support Assistant at Harrisburg Hospital. She was a former organist of various churches and played the accordion, loved Polka Music. She also loved doing mosaics, ceramics, painting and had a "green thumb" with plants. She loved birds, especially her Sengal Conyer Parrott and had an explosion of finches.
She is survived by her loving husband, whom she married April 28, 1997, Vladimir V. Bovsun; three daughters, Darlene L. Green, Carlisle, Melody M. Powell, Westminster, MD and Kelly S. Green, Maryland; two sons, Richard A. Brittain and wife Ginger L., Hummelstown and Scott L. Green and wife Donna L., Highspire; seven grandchildren, Dustin Foy, Belinda Cover, Amy Whiteman, Brandon Foy, Cory Quaid, Michael Hahn, Jr., and Drew A. Foy; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 at 11:30 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 357 South Harrisburg Street, Oberlin. A viewing will be held on Friday from 9:30 am - 11:30 am in the funeral home. Burial at the conclusion of services will be in William Howard Day Cemetery.
