Obituary for Paul Shuda
Rev. Paul R. Shuda, 88, of Harrisburg, died Monday, March 20, 2023 in UPMC - Harrisburg Hospital.
Rev. Shuda was born in Mount Carmel on June 11, 1934, the son of the late Joseph L. Shuda and Martha E. Nalis Shuda and was preceded in death by his sister, Sr. Mary Michelle Shuda and his brother Rev. Robert J. Shuda. He is survived by beloved cousins and friends.
He received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Divinity from St. Vincent''s Seminary. Rev. Shuda was a member of the Knights of Columbus for more than 67 years and was a member of OLBS Council 15137.
He was ordained on May 14, 1960 in St. Patrick''s Cathedral, Harrisburg. Vigil for Deceased with a Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 4:00 pm in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Parish and the Vietnamese Martyrs, 2121 North 3rd Street, Harrisburg with Very Rev. William Forrey, Celebrant. A viewing will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023 from 10:00 am - 10:45am in the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with Most Rev. Ronald W. Gainer, DD, JCL, Bishop of Harrisburg, as Celebrant. Burial will be on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 11:00 am in Our Mother of Consolation Cemetery, Mt. Carmel. Arrangements by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Oberlin.
