Margaret Mary Murray,69, of Hummelstown, died on Friday, January 27,2023 in her home.

She resided at Merakey/AVS, Hummelstown, was a former Employee for Goodwill Industries, Harrisburg, a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton and St. Aloysius Lodge #42 K.S.K.J.

Margaret was the daughter of the late David and Margaret Ann Smej Murray, and was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Murray; brother-in-law, David S. Pollard Sr. and nephew, David S. Pollard Jr. She is survived by two sisters: Christina Pollard, Harrisburg and Regina Mowery and husband Richard, Mechanicsburg; nieces and nephews, Monica Pollard-Vajda(Stephen), Rev. Richard Mowery, Bryan Mowery(Melissa) and Danny Pollard; grand-nieces and nephews; Devin, Mackenzie,Taylor, Alex,Christopher and Reagan and her Merakey family.

Margaret Mary was loved. She loved too. She loved her family. She loved babies and kids. She loved her dolls and her stuffed animals--they were her kids and she had names for all of them. She especially loved baby Jesus. She also loved the color green! She was loved by the staff at her Merakey Group Home, where she lived for the past 8 years; and she loved them. Her family wants to thank the staff at Merakey and her caregivers at the home. Her caregivers went beyond their call of duty to give Margaret Mary all the love and care that she needed. They were family. We considered them angels sent from God to help her. Although she went through many difficulties these past years, Margaret Mary still made things interesting for whoever met her. She was unforgettable. She had her way of getting what she wanted that not only sometimes challenged but especially endeared her to all she met. We will miss Margaret Mary and her sense of humor greatly and thank everyone who gave her true dignity and love these past years.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11:00 am in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 815 S. Second St. Steelton with Rev. Richard J. Mowery, her nephew, as Celebrant. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 am in the Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 S. Harrisburg St. Oberlin.
