Obituary for John Milakovic
John J. "Milak" Milakovic, 88, of Messiah Village, died Sunday, May 14, 2023.
Milak was a graduate of Steelton High School, Class of 1953 where he played baseball, football and basketball. He furthered his studies and received his Bachelor''s Degree in 1957 from Lehigh University, while attending, he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and played football and baseball. He was a Controller for Capital Blue Cross for over 35 years. He coached Steelton Raiders Midget Football Team and was a member of St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, where he served as a board member and member of the Serbian American Club and Serbian National Federation. He was also Past President of the Central PA Chapter of Data Processing Management Association.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Milan and Catherine Still Milakovic; his wife, Georgianne Lubic Milakovic, his son, Michael A. Milakovic; sisters Georgianne Hunter and Mildred Lescanec and is survived by his son, John G. Milakovic and wife Lana, Camp Hill, granddaughter, Anastasia L. Milakovic and husband Derek Zeigler, Columbus, OH; sister, Edna Charles, NJ; daughter-in-law, Terri Milakovic, Mechanicsburg; sister-in-laws, Rita C. Vorkapich and deceased husband Rodney, Steelton and Jill A. Swartz and husband Brian, Middletown; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 12:00 pm in St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church with Rev. Christopher S. Rocknage, Officiating. Burial in Churchville Cemetery at the conclusion of services. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm in the church. Arrangements by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
