Obituary of Gladys E. Treaster
Gladys E. "Wrinkle" Shafer Treaster, 74 of New Cumberland, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 6, 2020 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Adams County on January 21, 1946 to the late Donald J. and Gladys (Kime) Shafer. Gladys was a graduate of John Harris High School and Thompson Institute, and a member of Park Street United Methodist Church. She worked many years for Berg Electronics, Hills Department Stores, Jamesway, and for Community Medical as a Medical Assistant. Gladys was a Ladies Auxiliary member of Fairview Twp. Fire Department, a member of Newberry Twp. Fire Department, and a social member of Highspire Fire Department. She was also a Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack #278. She was a mother to many, and enjoyed fishing, crafting, the beach in Delaware, going to Aruba and donating her times and things to others who were in need.

Gladys was the widower of her loving husband, Eugene E. Treaster, who passed in 2006, and preceded in death by two brothers; Donald J. Shafer, Jr. and Larry E. Shafer. She is survived by one son; Michael T. (Kyrstin) Treaster of New Cumberland; two grandsons, Nick Treaster of New Cumberland, and Chris Treaster of Lancaster; three sisters, Doris J. Books, Vivian L. King, both of Middletown, Debra M. Fry, Colonial Park; three brothers; Kenneth W. Shafer, Hummelstown; James A. (Barb) Shafer, Middletown, Raymond E. Shafer, Dauphin; numerous nieces and nephews; and her 5 loving dogs.

Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Oberlin is handling arrangements.
