Obituary for Frances Verroca
Frances Marie Verroca, 102, of Steelton, PA died Saturday, February 13, 2021 in M.S. Hershey Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
She attended St. Ann''s Catholic School, Steelton and was a former employee of the Commonwealth of PA, Department of Transportation , where she worked for thirty-one years. She was a parishioner of the former St. Ann''s Roman Catholic Church, Steelton, where she was a member of the Merry Ann Senior Citizens Club. She was also a parishioner of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton, as well as belonging to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Steelton Italian Club.
Known lovingly to family and friends as Aunt (Zitsy) Francie, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Teresa Costanzo Verroca and was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, John and Anthony, and by two sisters, Anna Donato and Mary Bianchini. She was a kind, caring and loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews and several great, great nieces and nephews. She generously made her famous "Aunt Francie cookies" by the hundreds for many years and gave tins out as gifts for the holidays.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 11:00 am in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Steelton with Very Rev. David L. Danneker, her Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Viewing will be private. Current COVID-19 restrictions will be enforced. Face masks and social distancing will be required. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Oberlin.
