It is with heavy hearts that the family of Eleanor Marie Barbush share the news of her recent passing. She passed peacefully in the quiet loving presence of her family on the evening of Monday, March 6, 2023, 3 days before her 98th birthday. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond S. Barbush, who she loved most dearly.

She is survived by her children, Ray and Ellie, as well as her son-in-law, Ken and her two beautiful granddaughters, Katie (husband Mike) and Maggie.

Eleanor was the embodiment of kindness, love and understanding. She left her mark wherever she went and whoever she met along the way. No matter the amount of time you were in her life you couldn''t help but love her and feel comfort in her presence. A force to be reckoned with, she forged her own path and spread joy with every adventure she went on. She created a family based in faith and love. She made sure everyone knew they were welcome at Sunday dinners full of her homemade meatballs and pasta. The louder the better and no matter how many people showed up, there was always enough food...and cake that was always missing a piece as she "had to test it to make sure it was safe". She was blessed, but we were even more blessed to have known her and to have had her as a role model, a best friend, aunt, mother, and Nana. She was many things to many people, but all would agree she made everyone feel the same way - loved.

Eleanor was retired from Commercial Accounts at New Cumberland Army Depot, a member of the former St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Steelton and was a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, the Parish Council of Catholic Women, Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality, Steelton Italian Club, and worked Spaghetti Dinners at St. Ann''s from its inception. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Theresa DeMarco, Amelia Garrett, Michael DeMarco, Dorothy Falcone and Raymond DeMarco.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 11:00 am in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 815 S. Second St., Steelton with Rev. Jonathan P. Sawicki, her Pastor, as Celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 am until 10:30 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 S. Harrisburg St., Oberlin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Daughters of Our Lady of Mercy, 1009 Main Rd., Newfield, NJ 08344-5348 or Paxton Ministries, 2001 Paxton St., Harrisburg, PA 17111
