Obituary for Albert Schmeltzer Jr.
Albert P. Schmeltzer, 76, of Middletown, died Friday, October 21, 2022 in Hershey Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Albert P. Schmeltzer, Sr. and Anna Marie Abel Schmeltzer and is survived by his wife, Judith M. (Coates) Schmeltzer and sisters, Anna M. (Schmeltzer) Sullivan of Middletown, who is the widow of the late Joseph Sullivan and Rose E. (Schmeltzer) Walker and husband,Willard of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews.
Albert was a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School Class of 1966, a member of Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, retired from Defense Distribution Depot, Mechanicsburg in 1993 as a Material Handler Operator, an avid bowler who bowled a 300 game and won multiple bowling trophies. He enjoyed watching the Phillies, Philadelphia Eagles, Penn State football and the Hershey Bears. He also loved his pets.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Middletown on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Timothy Sahd, his Pastor, as Celebrant. There will be a visitation from 1:00 until 2:00 pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Oberlin is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 280 North Race Street, Middletown, PA 17057 or the American Lung Association 3001 Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
